About Me
Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO Registration #10893)
I hold a Master's Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy (EXAT) with a minor in Psychology. I am also a graduate of The Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP), a psychotherapy training program accredited by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP) and abide by its code of ethics. I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and am a member of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).
Prior to opening private practice, I spent six years in children's mental health. At the former Integra Program at the Child Development Institute (an accredited Toronto agency serving clients with Learning Disabilities and mental health challenges), I facilitated their innovative martial arts-based therapeutic groups. Using my background as a 4th degree black belt in Karate and my skills as a psychotherapist, I helped run the Integra Mindfulness Martial Arts (MMA) and Young Warriors (YW) programs, which combined martial arts training with mindfulness meditation, yoga, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and body-based emotion regulation techniques.
Prior to my time at Integra, I spent three years at the Sick Kids Centre for Community Mental Health (SKCCMH) serving children and families with a variety of social, emotional and behavioural challenges via Psychodynamic Play Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy and Group Therapy.
My eclectic background allows for me to work with a wide range of individuals, couples, groups and families.
The basis for my private practice work is Relational Psychotherapy, and is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
